January - Happy 10th Birthday to the Riva Litter.
Four of Porenn’s puppies started their new lives with their wonderful families, they all settled really well and we love receiving regular updates from them all. One little girl decided she was staying and she is now known as Vella and has the posh name Shingwidsi Tshadi Rose.
March - Sadly on the 6th March we had to say a final goodbye to our beautiful old lady Adara, Faahac Fushana for Shingwidsi. She was always full of character and incredibly intelligent; traits she has passed onto her family. Adara was nearly 15 years old when we said goodbye and we miss her everyday.
Happy 5th Birthday to the Silk Litter; Porenn, Shemse, Rosco and Mungo.
April - Porenn had a great return to the ring and was awarded 2nd in Open under Breed Specialist, Liz Storey (Kiromol).
June - Three Counties Championship Show was Vella’s debut in the ring and she had an amazing time. Hound Specialist, Jenny Startup, awarded her first in Puppy and Best Puppy in Breed. In the Hound Puppy Group she was placed second by Hound Specialist, Stuart Milner. The following day at the RRC of GB she won Minor Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy Bitch, while Mum, Porenn, won first in Open. Thank you to Breed Specialist, Mike House.
July - Vella was second in Minor Puppy at East of England Championship Show. International breed judge, Orit Nevo, placed her second at M&NRRC Championship Show.
August - Porenn won second in open and the Reserve Challenge Certificate at Bournemouth Championship Show under judge John Walton-Haddon. At Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show Vella won Minor Puppy and was placed third at SKC. At SKC Porenn was second in Open.
September - The month started with a wonderful trip to the Czech Republic to judge nearly 200 Ridgebacks at the Czech Republic Rhodesian Ridgeback Club’s Championship Show Weekend. It was a great experience and I met some lovely Ridgebacks and people.
At Richmond Championship Show, Vella won Puppy, Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy in Breed under Breed Specialist, Sue Simper (Matabele). Due to a couple of clumsy accidents John had to take on showing Vella for most of the forthcoming shows and he did a wonderful job. Their first show together was the RRCofGB Championship Show where they were placed second in Puppy by Breed Specialist, Kirsteen Maidment.
October - We had a fantastic day at SRRA Open Show, John and Vella won Puppy, Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy In Show and Porenn won Open, Best Bitch and Best In Show. This was the second time Porenn has achieved this at this show and the third time she has won Best In Show at a Breed Club Show. Thank you to Swedish Breed Specialist, Sonja Nilson, for thinking so highly of our girls.
At Midland Counties both girls were second in their classes, Vella was in Puppy and Porenn in Open.
November - Happy 1st Birthday to our Rose Litter: Vella, Java, Zeeva, Zola and Miss Melody.
December - We had a lovely day at LKA, the last show of the year. Vella won her first Junior class and was second in the Junior Stakes Class out of an entry of 32. Porenn was second in Open.
